Improve your driving with better video with integrated data overlay from AIM. The SmartyCam 3 Sport is a digital video camera that connects to your data logger to show you any information the data logger receives (such as MPH and RPM) and syncs it with the video footage to provide an exact look at what happened, when it happened and what the effect on your race was.
As a stand-alone camera, the SmartyCam 3 records brilliant, wave-free 1920x1080P HD 30 FPS racing videos. Connect the SmartyCam 3 to an AiM data logger (like a MyChron5s or MXm) and you can expand the overlay to include information from those sources. When connected to a GPS-enabled logger, the GPS data gets embedded in the video file as well. When you import the data file and the video file into RaceStudio 3, the two files will automatically sync so you can see WHAT happened, exactly WHEN it happened. No more guessing about whether the driver caused something to happen, or if the driver reacted to something happening!
Records true HD video to your MicroSD memory card (supports up to 2 TB cards, class U3 cards recommended). Battery lasts less than 20 minutes, so connection to a logger or vehicle power is required*. Water resistant for use on open cars, motorcycles, and personal watercraft. The wide-angle (84°) field of view on this camera is ideal for open vehicles or mounting to the windshield on sedans. (Mounting this version to the rollbar or main roll hoop behind the driver in a sedan will get a lot of roof, floor, and driver in the shot). The built-in rear-facing preview screen makes aiming the camera easy. The improved sapphire glass lens (similar to a watch crystal) is much harder than the glass used on previous generations for greater resistance to rock chips. A standard 1/4-20 female thread on the bottom accepts any standard camera mount (sold separately).
Weighs only 7.1 oz (200g) including battery. Measures 3 5/16″ Wide x 2 5/16″ High x 1 7/8″ deep including lens (80mm W x 59mm H x 47mm D)**. Race Studio 3 software is always available as a free download from AiM.
*For stand-alone use, the CAN cable may be modified for direct connection to vehicle DC power.
**Our measurements include the knob on the side which seals the memory card door, the threaded camera mounting boss on the bottom, and the front lens. Case alone measures 72mm W x 54mm H x 37mm D.
